Almera electric steering column defective
Summary of the thread
The 2004 Nissan Almera's electric steering column adjustment was defective, with an error stored and the column unable to adjust. This issue was identified as a possible problem with the cable and plug connections to the steering column adjustment motor. The suggested solution was to inspect these connections, which was confirmed by a workshop to be the cause. Repairing the defective cable connection resolved the issue, restoring the steering column's functionality.

Thanks for the tip. Where exactly are these connections located? Is it easy to access them?

Yes, cable and plug were the issue. I had the same symptoms. I didn't check it myself, but the workshop confirmed it was a defective cable or plug connection. I suggest you go to a workshop.

Thank you for the confirmation. I took it to the workshop, and as suspected, it was indeed a defective cable connection. Repair cost was 95€. Steering column adjustment works again.

I've had a similar issue with my Almera. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the steering column adjustment motor? That was the cause of the problem in my case.
