Thanks for the reply. Yes, I ran a diagnostic check, and it indicated a malfunction in the exhaust back pressure sensor. Do you think a defective sensor is the most probable cause? How much did the repair cost you?

Based on my experience, a defective sensor is highly probable. The error code and symptoms you described match mine. Replacing the sensor resolved the issue. Since it's an emission control component, I'd advise taking it to a reputable workshop. A bad sensor replacement could cause more problems. The cost was around 200€, plus labor.

Thank you so much for the insight! I'll schedule an appointment with a trusted mechanic for an assessment and sensor replacement. They quoted me 245€, sensor included. Knowing that a sensor replacement solved a similar problem gives me some peace of mind. I appreciate the help!

That sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old 2014 Opel Astra. Same symptoms: dashboard lights and smoke when accelerating. Did you run any diagnostic checks? What error codes did it throw? In my case, it was a faulty sensor messing with the emissions and engine performance. These sensors can be sensitive.
