Almera rough running defective injector

My 2007 Nissan Almera with a gasoline engine is acting up at 246344 km. Check engine light is on, it runs rough, and stalls at idle. Feels like I'm losing power and it's jerking when I accelerate. I suspect a mixture preparation error, maybe a defective injector. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had similar symptoms with my Almera: reduced power, rough running, and jerking acceleration. Have you checked your intake manifold for leaks or the oxygen sensor? A rich mixture could also mean a faulty catalytic converter or old spark plugs. Check those before taking things apart.

Intake manifold, O2 sensor, catalytic converter, spark plugs – But did those checks actually fix your problem, or just send you on a wild goose chase? Was it definitely mixture related, and if so, what solved it?

Yes, I had the same symptoms, and a defective injector was identified as the cause of the mixture preparation error after diagnostics. The other components could contribute, but the injector was the main issue. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for diagnostics.

Thanks for confirming. I appreciate the insight. My mechanic found a defective injector, just like you said. 515€ later, it's running smoothly again. Lesson learned!
