Alphard AC Failure

I'm having a nightmare with my 2023 Toyota Alphard with a gasoline engine. Mileage is at 45491 km. The AC has completely failed. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, the air conditioning no longer cools, it won't even switch on, and the warning light in the speedometer is on. I've checked the basics, but I suspect the refrigerant compressor has failed, possibly due to a defective air conditioning control unit. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Alphard (don't remember the year exactly). Same symptoms – AC wouldn't kick on, warning lights, the whole shebang. Did you check the compressor relay?

Thanks for the quick response! I did check the relay, it seems to be fine. When you had this problem, was it definitely the compressor? Was there anything else involved?

In my case, it turned out to be the compressor, and yes, the control unit was faulty as well. Based on your description, especially the stored error, it's highly likely you're facing the same issue. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop. I ended up paying around 980€ for the repair.

Appreciate the insight. I suspected it was heading that way. Looks like a trip to the workshop is inevitable. Thanks again for confirming my fears and saving me some time!
