Thanks for the quick response! I did check the wiring briefly, but I'll take a closer look. As for diagnostics, I haven't run any myself. I was hoping to get some insights before taking it to a workshop. When you had this issue, did it affect your engine performance significantly, and did you notice any changes in fuel consumption?

No worries! Yes, engine performance definitely took a hit, felt sluggish, and fuel consumption went up noticeably. Given your symptoms and the mileage, it's highly likely the sensor. Honestly, save yourself the headache and get it properly diagnosed at a trusted workshop. My gut feeling says you are facing the same issue I did. I ended up replacing the sensor, and everything went back to normal. The repair set me back around 245€.

Hey there! I have an Alphard too. Your issue sounds pretty familiar. I had similar symptoms – warning light and smoke – which turned out to be a faulty exhaust pressure sensor. Have you checked the sensor's wiring for any obvious damage or loose connections? Also, did you run any vehicle diagnostics to confirm the sensor's malfunction?
