Altima intake air temperature sensor fault

My 2019 Nissan Altima with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. The check engine light is on, power is noticeably reduced, and the engine is running rough. I scanned it and it's showing an intake air temperature sensor fault. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Sounds like a pain! Is the sensor reading way off, or just giving a generic error code? Like, is it showing -40 degrees when it's clearly summer? If it's wildly inaccurate, that pretty much confirms the sensor is toast.

Good question! The reading seems stuck at a constant value, which I suspect is the problem. Is this something I can fix myself, or am I looking at a trip to the shop?

Stuck reading definitely points to a bad sensor. While you could replace it yourself, without knowing the exact specs or having experience, you might cause more harm. Given the symptoms, I'd say a workshop visit is in order. It's like trying to perform surgery with a butter knife – possible, but probably not a great idea.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the intake air temperature sensor. Repair cost me 155€. Replaced it, and now it runs smoothly again!
