Amaze Knock Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Honda Amaze is experiencing issues with the check engine light, poor fuel consumption, and rough idling, with a diagnostic scan indicating a 'knock sensor defective' code. The initial inspection of the wiring showed no visible issues, but further investigation revealed a cracked connector and a loose wire. The solution involved repairing the cable/plug connection, which resolved the problem.

Mileage is at 183171 km. I glanced at the connection but didn't really dig in deep. Is that usually the problem? What should I be looking for?

For me it was definitely the connection. Visually it looked fine but after closer inspection, the connector was cracked and a wire was loose. It's worth a good look before replacing the sensor. However, with that mileage, the sensor itself might also need replacement. A workshop can assess this properly and prevent consequential damage.

Thanks! I'll check the connection carefully. If not, I'm taking it to a workshop to avoid further damage. It was the cable/plug connection; cost me 95€ to get it fixed.

I had a similar issue with my Amaze. What's the mileage? Those knock sensors can be sensitive. Have you looked closely at the cable and plug connection? Could be corrosion or a loose wire.
