Amaze transfer case issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Honda Amaze diesel with 194,752 km is experiencing gearbox slipping and unclean shifting, particularly when cold. The issue is suspected to be related to the transfer case oil, though no leaks were found. Possible causes include low or contaminated transfer fluid or mechanical wear of the gears inside the transfer case. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected by a professional, which confirmed excessive mechanical wear in the transfer case, leading to necessary repairs.

Thanks for the quick reply! I didn't check the fluid level directly, just visually inspected for leaks. Where exactly is the fill point, and is there a specific type of transfer fluid recommended for the Amaze?

Honestly, I didn't check it myself, as the location is tricky to reach without proper tools. Given the gear grinding feeling and the shifting problems, it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop. Could be defective gears in the transfer case, or at least very worn. It could also be the oil.

Alright, appreciate the advice. I took it to a mechanic, and you were right. It was indeed the transfer case. The mechanic confirmed excessive mechanical wear. Ended up costing me 330€ for the repair. Thanks again!

Hey, I have an Amaze too, and your symptoms sound familiar. I had similar gearbox issues a while back. Did you check the transfer fluid level? Maybe it's low or contaminated.
