Amaze water sensor malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Honda Amaze diesel is experiencing a check engine light and rough engine performance, with an error code indicating a water sensor malfunction. The suspected causes include a defective cable or plug, with a particular focus on the sensor's connector potentially being corroded or loose. The suggested solution is to inspect the sensor's connector, but ultimately, taking the car to a workshop is recommended for a proper diagnosis and repair, which confirmed the issue was indeed with the cable.

Thanks! The rough running is more noticeable when the engine is cold. Where exactly is the water sensor located? I want to check the connector before taking it to a workshop.

Cold start issues definitely point to the sensor. I spent ages trying to find it myself, fiddled with a few things and still no luck. Eventually, I gave up and took it to a workshop. They sorted it quickly. Probably best to get it checked properly – could save you some headaches.

I appreciate the advice. I think I will bring it in. It's probably the wisest thing to do before I mess something up completely. Thank you! It cost me around 95€, it was indeed the cable.

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my Amaze, though I don't recall the exact error code. Does the rough running happen constantly, or only under certain conditions? I'd suggest checking the sensor's connector first. It might be corroded or loose.
