AMG GT Engine Running Rich

My 2023 Mercedes AMG GT with a gasoline engine is running excessively rich I've noticed reduced power, the check engine light, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration I suspect a defective fuel injector Has anyone experienced similar symptoms or have diagnostic suggestions

I had similar issues with my BMW 3 series, also gasoline powered Rough running, check engine light, and poor fuel economy Have you checked for intake manifold leaks That could cause a rich mixture if it's pulling in unmetered air before the throttle body Faulty fuel injectors are definitely a possibility though Did you check the error codes

I appreciate the suggestion regarding the intake manifold and potential leaks I haven't specifically checked for leaks there yet, but I will investigate Can you describe in detail what the error codes were and what caused that issue in your case

The error code on my BMW pointed towards a faulty oxygen sensor, but that was a symptom, not the cause After some digging, it turned out a fuel injector was leaking Because of that the engine was running with a rich mixture A leak around the intake manifold might also be the problem, so I'd suggest taking it to a workshop and letting them diagnose it properly

I appreciate your input and shared experience Based on your recommendation, I decided to take my AMG GT to a trusted workshop for a thorough diagnosis As it turns out, my initial suspicion was correct: one of the fuel injectors was indeed defective, causing the rich mixture and the associated symptoms The total repair cost came to approximately 515€, which included the replacement of the faulty fuel injector and a comprehensive system check Thank you for your guidance in encouraging me to seek professional assistance to resolve this issue
