AMG GT Hybrid Check Engine Light Air Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A persistent check engine light in a 2020 Mercedes AMG GT Hybrid was diagnosed as an air valve issue, suspected to be caused by a defective hose connection affecting air supply and manifold pressure. The problem was identified as a vacuum leak due to a cracked hose, which is common as hoses become brittle over time. The solution involved inspecting and replacing the defective hose connection, resolving the issue.

Thank you for your input. Could you specify which vacuum hoses were problematic in your case? Any specific areas of the air intake where I should focus my inspection?

Honestly, I didn't get too deep into it myself. I fiddled a bit, couldn't find anything obvious and just took it to the shop. They said it was a small vacuum leak, replaced a hose, and I was good to go. Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but it might be worth just having them take a look. Better safe than sorry!

Understood. The issue was indeed a defective hose connection. Replacement cost 175€. Thank you for your help.

Check engine lights are the worst! I had something similar on my AMG GT, though the mileage was way lower. Sounds like you're on the right track with the vacuum hoses. I bet it's a crack in one of them causing a leak. They get brittle over time. Give them a good squeeze and look for anything obvious around the air supply. If you're hearing a hissing sound near the air intake, that's your culprit!
