AMG GT Hybrid Engine Stalling Issue

My 2021 Mercedes AMG GT Hybrid has the check engine light on and stalls at idle. It has about 246380 km. I think there's a fuel tank ventilation system leak. Could a bad activated charcoal filter cause this? I also see a possible purge valve problem, but I can't check the pressure sensor.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue on my older BMW, though not a hybrid, check engine light and all. The problem was a faulty purge valve. Did you check the valve itself or only the sensor?

Thanks for the quick reply. Are you saying the purge valve was the only cause of the check engine light and stalling for you? I didn't test the valve directly, just the pressure sensor readings, which seemed normal, but I don't know much about emission control systems.

Yep, just the purge valve on my end. Though with hybrids, things can get a bit more complicated. If the sensor readings are normal and you still have problems, better to take it to a workshop. They will smoke test the system and see where the leak is.

Understood. Thanks for confirming a faulty purge valve can cause those symptoms. I'll take it to a workshop for a full inspection, including a smoke test, as you suggested. The estimated repair cost, including replacing the activated charcoal filter, is about 275€. Thanks again for the help!
