When the engine's cold, it runs rougher The smoke is black when I accelerate I changed the air filter a month ago, but could that cause such problems Could it be a loose cable or bad plug connection in the injection system

Black smoke points to too much fuel or not enough air The rough running when cold reinforces the fuel injection idea A simple cable or plug connection issue within the fuel injection system is possible It’s worth checking the simple and cheap things first Given the symptoms, and potential damage to the catalytic converter with excessive unburnt fuel, I would recommend a workshop They can diagnose the fuel injection system properly with diagnostic tools Better safe than sorry with a hybrid engine

Thanks for the advice I took it to a workshop, and you were right A plug connection to one of the injectors was loose and corroded, causing fuel system problems A new plug and cleaning fixed it The repair cost was only 95€ which is a relief Thanks

Those issues sound linked to the fuel injection system Higher fuel consumption, power loss, stalling, and smoke are bad news Have you noticed any patterns Does it happen more when the engine is cold or hot What color is the smoke White, blue, or black Smoke color tells us about fuel or oil issues Was any recent work done on the engine Even routine air filter changes can throw off the fuel air mixture It's a domino effect in a complex hybrid engine
