AMG GT Hybrid Siren Communication Fault

Experiencing an issue with my 2020 Mercedes AMG GT hybrid The error memory indicates a siren communication fault and the alarm system is non-functional Diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug connection Has anyone encountered something similar Estimated repair cost is around 95€

That's messed up I had something vaguely similar happen on my AMG GT The alarm would just randomly go off in the middle of the night scared the crap outta my neighbors Turns out it was a wiring issue near the alarm module Did they check the voltage at the siren Because if that's fluctuating it could be triggering the fault Is the car throwing any other weird codes or is it strictly the alarm system playing up

The error memory only shows the siren communication fault They mentioned checking the cable connections but I will specifically ask them to check the voltage at the siren Was your issue specifically the wiring harness or a connection point

Yeah I think so Definitely nag them to check the siren's voltage From what I remember it was a chafed wire grounding out intermittently Drove me nuts trying to figure it out Honestly unless you're super comfortable with automotive wiring tracing that stuff is a pain I ended up just taking it to a workshop saved me a lot of headache Better safe than sorry with a hybrid ya know

I appreciate the advice I will take it to the workshop It was indeed the wiring issue as you suggested The repair cost was almost exactly as predicted Thank you again for your help
