Argo Anti-Theft Alarm Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Fiat Argo is experiencing an anti-theft alarm error, with the alarm not functioning and a fault stored in the error memory. The issue seems linked to the indicators during locking. A similar problem was resolved by recoding the alarm system to address a conflict with the optical locking, suggesting a potential solution is to have the system checked and recoded at a workshop.

Power failure... interesting. I haven't specifically noticed, but it's possible. Where exactly was the issue with your Astra, and did it also happen with the optical locking?

Right, in my case, it turned out the alarm system was coded to activate the optical locking (indicators flashing) which was somehow causing a conflict. It was intermittent and a pain to diagnose. Best bet is to take it to a workshop with the error codes. They should be able to pinpoint the faulty component with the diagnostic tools. It could be a faulty alarm control unit or something related to the power supply. I'd advise against trying to fix it yourself, car alarm systems can be very tricky.

Thanks for the insight! Turns out it was exactly as you suspected. The alarm system was triggering the optical locking. Workshop recoded it and all sorted. Cost me 45€.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar gremlin with my old Opel Astra. The alarm would randomly go off, or sometimes just not arm at all. Does it seem to happen more after a power failure, or when the car's been sitting for a while? Maybe a dodgy alarm sensor, or even the control unit itself? Have you checked the usual culprits like the car battery?
