Argo clutch pedal switch issues
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Fiat Argo owner experienced issues likely related to the clutch pedal switch, including error messages, non-functional gear display, cruise control, and starting problems. The suspected cause was a defective cable or plug connection. After a visual inspection showed no obvious damage, professional diagnosis at a workshop confirmed a faulty connection, which was repaired, resolving the issues.

Thanks for the quick response. I've visually inspected the wiring and connector near the switch, but didn't see anything obvious. Is there a specific way to test the switch or connector to confirm the diagnosis before I replace it?

While a multimeter can be used to test the switch for continuity, given the complexity of the integrated systems and potential for further electrical fault, I would advise having a workshop professionally diagnose the issue. This will help to properly confirm the defect and prevent accidental damage. In the long run, it will likely save you time and potential further expense.

Understood, thank you for your advice. I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a faulty connection as suspected. Repair cost was 95€. Everything's working normally again.

It sounds like a faulty clutch pedal switch could indeed be the culprit, given the symptoms you're describing. The switch plays a role in several systems, including the gear selector display and the cruise control functionality, as well as acting as a safety mechanism for starting the engine. Have you checked the wiring and connector for any obvious signs of damage or corrosion?
