Argo electronic parking brake failure
Summary of the thread
The electronic parking brake on a 2022 Fiat Argo was non-functional, displaying an error and warning light. Initial checks of fuses and connections did not resolve the issue, leading to speculation about a software problem. However, diagnostics indicated a fault with the electric motor in the brake caliper circuit. The solution involved replacing the defective motor, which resolved the issue after a workshop confirmed the diagnosis and completed the repair.

I haven't checked the voltage at the caliper directly. The diagnostic tool shows a general error related to the electric motor within the brake caliper circuit. Is that motor likely the problem?

Based on the error code and symptoms, the electric motor within the brake caliper is a likely suspect. The entire caliper will need replacing. The diagnostics are indicating that as your problem so a physical inspection is unlikely to reveal anything new. I advise taking the car to a workshop.

I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the electric motor in the brake caliper was defective. The repair, including parts and labor, cost 505€. The braking system is now working fine.

The symptoms suggest a hardware fault, not software. The error message and non-functionality point to component failure. Have you checked the voltage at the brake caliper? Do you have diagnostics to read the specific error code?
