Argo stalling poor fuel economy

Guys, I'm kinda freaking out! I've got a 2022 Fiat Argo with a gasoline engine, and it's been acting up lately. It's done 219125 km. The check engine light is on, and it's using way more fuel than it used to. Plus, it keeps stalling at idle, which is super annoying. And when I accelerate, there's this weird smoke coming out. Could it be the mass air flow sensor? I'm not a mechanic, so I'm just guessing here, but it sounds like an air flow problem, right?

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Fiat Argo with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling at idle, poor fuel economy, and unusual smoke during acceleration, with the check engine light on. The suspected cause is a faulty mass air flow sensor, which can lead to these issues. The solution is to have the mass air flow sensor checked and replaced by a professional, which resolved the problem and restored the vehicle's performance.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Argo. Is it struggling to maintain a steady idle? And has performance taken a nosedive? Could be your mass air flow meter (LMM). Has anyone checked the air intake system for blockages or leaks?

So, your Argo had the same symptoms? Stalling, bad fuel economy, the whole shebang? What exactly was the problem, and how did you fix it? Was it definitely the mass air flow sensor, or was it something else entirely?

Yep, all those symptoms. It was the mass air flow sensor for sure. I'd suggest getting it checked by a professional. Could save you a lot of headaches in the long run. A defective mass air flow sensor will cause all sorts of issues. So I think it's best to take it to the workshop to replace the broken part.

Thanks a bunch for the advice! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was the mass air flow sensor. Cost me 365€ to get it replaced, but at least it's running smoothly again. Really appreciate the help!
