Arkana EGR Valve Issue

Vacuum leaks? Where exactly should I be looking for those? Is there a common place they happen on the Arkana?

While a vacuum leak could contribute, given the comprehensive nature of your symptoms, the EGR valve remains the primary suspect. Given your vehicle's mileage, the valve may be defective or jammed. I advise consulting a workshop for diagnostics and repair. Expect a repair cost around 355€.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. It was the EGR valve. Cost me 355€ to get it sorted, but at least it's running smoothly again now.

The symptoms you describe are consistent with a defective EGR valve. Reduced engine power, the check engine light, smoke during acceleration, rough engine running, higher fuel consumption, jerking, and hissing all point in that direction. A jammed or faulty EGR valve can indeed cause these issues. Have you checked for any obvious vacuum leaks?
