The accelerator pedal module? I hadn't considered that. What makes you think that's the likely culprit?

Well, a defective accelerator pedal module can definitely mess with the throttle valve's operation. It might not be sending the correct signals, which would explain the higher fuel consumption and poor starting. I suggest checking it out or going straight to the workshop.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. The accelerator pedal module was indeed defective. Replacement cost me 205€. Runs like a dream now!

Interesting. I have an Arkana too, though I can't remember the exact year, and those symptoms ring a bell. Did you check the accelerator pedal module? Is it possible that it's faulty?
