Arkana generator fault

I've got a 2022 Renault Arkana with a gasoline engine. Lately, I've been experiencing some weird issues: reduced engine power, a warning light on the dash, and it struggles to start. The lights are flickering, and the error memory shows a generator fault. I'm suspecting it's a defective generator. Anyone else run into this?

Sounds damn familiar! I've got an Arkana too, and had similar symptoms a few months back. Reduced power, flickering lights like a dodgy disco, and the car was barely turning over. The whole electrical system felt like it was about to give up the ghost. Did you check the voltage? Any weird smells?

Yeah, I did check the voltage, and it's all over the place. Huge voltage drop when starting. No weird smells, though. What exactly was the issue with yours? Was it definitely the generator?

Okay, voltage drop is a massive red flag. Mine was indeed the generator; completely shot. It was like trying to run a marathon with a punctured lung. Seriously crippled the car! Get it checked out professionally ASAP; a faulty generator can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. Could end up frying other components if you leave it too long.

Thanks for the insight! Looks like I'm off to the workshop. The repair bill came out at 960€. Better safe than sorry. Cheers!
