Aslan active air flap issue
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Hyundai Aslan with a gasoline engine is experiencing active air flap issues, indicated by a check engine light and occasional overheating. The problem is suspected to be with the electromechanism, as diagnostics point to a fault in the system. A similar issue in another vehicle required replacing the entire active grille shutter assembly, suggesting that a full replacement might be necessary to resolve the problem.

Yeah, ran a scan; it's flagging the active air flap. You think yours was a simple fix, or was it a full replacement job? And how much did it sting?

On my BMW, it required replacing the entire active grille shutter assembly. Unfortunately, the electromechanism was indeed defective as well. Considering yours is showing similar symptoms and codes, it is likely a full replacement, which means you probably should visit a workshop as soon as possible.

Appreciate the insight. Looks like a trip to the workshop is inevitable then. They quoted around 590€ for the replacement. Thanks!

Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with my old BMW 5 series. Faulty active grille shutter, leading to engine overheating. Have you done a full diagnostic scan to pull the specific fault code? It might point directly to the flap mechanism. Did you check the wiring?
