Astra acceleration jerking

Anyone seen jerking during acceleration on a 2014 diesel Astra? It's done 142073 km. Check engine light's on, error code stored. Feels like reduced power, sometimes stalls at idle, runs rough, and smells strongly of exhaust. Thinking it might be a defective, scorched intake manifold leaking?

Sounds familiar. I've got an Astra too, and I had almost the same symptoms a while back. Did you check the intake manifold gasket? Mine was leaking like crazy, causing all sorts of engine misfires.

It was definitely the gasket, but honestly, I'm not mechanically gifted. I just took it to a shop when the engine started acting up. They told me the manifold was leaking and replaced the whole thing.

Thanks. Based on that and some more checking, I had the intake manifold replaced. Cost 1180€. Symptoms are gone now. Thanks again for the help.
