Astra Camshaft Sensor Error

I've got a 2022 Vauxhall Astra diesel with 212986 km on the clock. It's been starting rough lately and feels like it's lost some power. Hooked it up to a code reader, and it's throwing a camshaft sensor error. Checked the wiring and plug, and they seem okay, though not completely sure. Could a dodgy camshaft sensor really cause all this? Anyone else had similar issues with theirs?

I had something similar with my Astra. Not the same year, but the symptoms sound familiar. Rough idling, felt sluggish, and eventually stalled a couple of times. Did you check the crankshaft sensor as well?

Crankshaft sensor, eh? No, I haven't looked at that yet. Is that likely to be connected to the camshaft sensor problem? Where is the crankshaft sensor located?

It might be linked; worth investigating. Honestly, it could be timing issues in general. But if you've got a camshaft sensor error, and you're not 100% sure about the wiring, I'd say take it to a workshop and have them check it out. Could save you a bigger headache later.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a mechanic and you were right - dodgy connection to the camshaft sensor. 95€ later and it's running like new. Appreciate the help!
