Astra clutch pedal switch issue

I'm having a head-scratcher with my 2013 Vauxhall Astra diesel. It's got about 112k km on the clock. Seems like the clutch pedal switch is playing up. I'm getting an error logged, the gear selection in the speedo is dead, cruise control is a no-go, and sometimes it just refuses to start. After reading a bit I'm guessing a dodgy cable or plug. Anyone seen this before?

I had a similar issue with my Astra. The symptoms sound very familiar. Does the issue clear up if you jiggle the gear selector?

Interesting, what do you mean by 'jiggle the gear selector'? Just wanna make sure I'm trying the same thing before I start tearing things apart.

By 'jiggle' I mean gently apply a bit of pressure to the gear stick and move it very slightly, as if you were trying to engage a gear that isn't quite going in. If that fixes the problem temporarily it's almost certainly the same root cause. In my experience a workshop visit will be needed to fix this issue correctly and permanently.

I appreciate the insight! I was getting some conflicting information online. I took it to the workshop, turns out the clutch pedal switch was indeed faulty, after replacement it cost me 95€. Everything's working fine now!
