Astra Coolant Level Issue

Hi, I have a 2015 Vauxhall Astra diesel with 101570 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and the error memory says something about the coolant level being too low. Anyone else had this?

Hello there. I had a similar issue with my Astra. Do you notice any signs of a leak? Any coolant on the driveway or around the engine bay? Is the engine overheating, or does it reach normal temperature?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen any visible leaks, and the temperature gauge seems normal. How did you fix it?

Well, in my case, it was a very slow leak from one of the radiator hoses. Nothing obvious, but enough to drop the coolant level over time. However, without a visible leak and normal temperature, it could be other things. Maybe a pressure test is needed to find the source of the problem, or it could even be a faulty sensor giving a false reading. I would recommend taking it to a workshop; they will find the problem quickly.

Thanks, I took your advice and went to the workshop. Turned out the coolant level was indeed too low, which caused the warning light to come on. They refilled the coolant and checked for leaks, fixed the hose, the bill came to 52€. Hopefully, it's sorted now.
