I have an Astra and had a similar problem, though I'm not sure it's exactly the same. Was there any unusual noise when you engaged or disengaged the parking brake? Did you notice anything else out of the ordinary before it happened?

Yes, the warning light and error code were exactly the same. Given that there were no prior symptoms, it could indeed be the calliper motor. Unfortunately, you'll likely need to visit a workshop. I ended up having to do that with mine.

I appreciate the confirmation. It seems I have no other choice but to take it in for repair. I will post the outcome.
