Thank you for your input. I have not inspected the air intake specifically. Did you find that cleaning or replacing the air filter resolved the issue in your case, or was further intervention required?

In my instance, cleaning the air filter did provide a marginal improvement, however, the underlying issue persisted. Eventually, a diagnostic check indicated a faulty throttle valve. Considering your symptoms and the potential link to the accelerator pedal module, seeking professional evaluation is advisable to avoid unnecessary component replacements.

I appreciate the advice. I had the vehicle inspected and the throttle valve was indeed defective, as suspected. The accelerator pedal module was identified as the cause. The repair cost 205€.

I also drive an Astra, although a slightly different model. I experienced similar symptoms a while back. Have you checked the air intake for any obstructions? A restricted airflow could also affect the throttle position and mimic the issues you're describing.
