Astra Hybrid Transmission Fault

Hi, I'm having an issue with my 2023 Vauxhall Astra hybrid. It has 97115 km on the clock. The radiator oil pressure seems defective. The transmission indicator and check engine light both illuminate. The automatic transmission enters emergency mode, shifts erratically, slips, and produces grinding noises. Error memory isn't empty either. Could this be a cable or plug connection issue?

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar nightmare with my old Peugeot 308, although it wasn't hybrid. Transmission light, check engine light, the whole shebang! The gears were acting up. It turned out to be some wonky wiring. You wouldn't happen to check the oil cooler by any chance, right?

Interesting! I haven't specifically checked the oil cooler itself. What exactly about the wiring caused the problems on your Peugeot? And what was your radiator coolant looking like at the time? Was the pressure gauge acting up?

Well, the mechanic told me that it was a faulty connector to the transmission control module, causing intermittent signals. He didn't mention radiator coolant or the pressure gauge at the time. Honestly, after he said 'faulty connector' I stopped asking questions, LOL. I’d advise going to the workshop – it might be the fastest way.

Thanks for the insight! That confirms my suspicion. I inspected the cable connections and found a loose plug. I reconnected it, cleared the error memory, and everything seems fine now. Total cost: 95€. It's great when it's something simple!
