Astra rough running error code

My 2005 Vauxhall Astra diesel with 134550 km is running rough, and the check engine light is on. An OBD reader shows a 'reset quantity drift compensation' error that returns after clearing. Any ideas? Could it be a system reset issue, or is it fuel injection related?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot. Same symptoms – rough running, check engine light, and some weird error code related to fuel trim. In my case, it turned out to be a dodgy injector. Like a leaky tap, messing with the whole system. Have you noticed any difference in fuel consumption or performance?

Fuel consumption seems normal, but performance definitely feels down. It's not as responsive. So, you reckon it's the injectors then? Is there any way to test them, or is it just a case of swapping them out one by one until the problem goes away? What exactly do you mean with fuel trim?

Well, fuel trim is like the engine's way of trying to compensate for something being off, like an injector not spraying correctly. As for testing the injectors yourself, it can be tricky without the right equipment. In the end, I took my Peugeot to a workshop. They did some proper diagnostics and confirmed it was a faulty injector. Bit the bullet and got it replaced. Best bet is to visit the workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I booked it into the local garage. Turns out you were spot on – defective injection valve! Repair cost me 515€, but it’s running smooth again. Appreciate the help!
