Atos Camshaft Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Hyundai Atos with 142,000 km exhibited rough starting, power loss, and a check engine light, indicating a camshaft sensor error. Initial inspection showed the sensor's wiring appeared fine, but a loose plug was suspected. It was suggested to carefully check the connector for corrosion or damage, as bad contact could cause the issue. Ultimately, a workshop confirmed the problem was with the connector, which was cleaned and secured, resolving the issue without needing a new sensor.

Good analogy! I'll double-check that connector again. If the connection looks good, would you recommend testing the sensor itself, or could it still be something else causing the error?

If the connection is truly solid, the sensor itself might be failing. However, without proper diagnostic tools, pinpointing the exact cause can be tricky. Considering the symptoms and the stored error, it's best to have a workshop take a look. Could save you money in the long run.

Thanks for the help. I took it to a shop, and you were right – it was the connector! They cleaned it up, secured it properly, and the car is running great again. Cost me 95€, much better than a new sensor!

A faulty camshaft sensor can definitely cause those symptoms. Think of it like a miscommunication between engine parts. Before replacing the sensor, check the connection more carefully. Are there any signs of corrosion or damage to the connector itself? Bad contact might be your culprit.
