Atos Idle Air Control Valve Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Hyundai Atos is experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light due to an idle air control (IAC) valve error. The problem may be caused by a contaminated intake, affecting the IAC valve's functionality. Cleaning the IAC valve and throttle body might resolve the issue, but professional diagnosis and repair are recommended for a thorough solution.

When you had this, did you see stalling and the check engine light too? Where's the IAC valve located, and can I clean it myself with limited experience?

Yeah, stalling and the check engine light were exactly what I saw. Cleaning it might work, but it could be more than that. I'd get it checked by a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly.

I took your advice and brought it to a local workshop. They said the idle air control valve was faulty due to a heavily contaminated intake. The total repair cost came to 425€. Thanks again for your help.

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Atos. Check if the IAC valve is dirty. A good clean might sort it out. Is the throttle body also gunked up?
