Thanks for the detailed info. I had similar xenon washer issues with my A1 2018. After reading your response, it sounds exactly like what happened to me with the pump and electrical fault signals. Did you remember the final repair cost? Also wondering if youve had any other cleaning system problems since the fix was done? Makes sense about the 100000km wear point, matches what my mechanic mentioned during my last service. Seems like a common fault point for these models.

Got the repairs done last week and the xenon headlight cleaning system works perfectly now. The malfunction turned out to be a faulty cable connection at the pump relay, causing the system to fail completely. Total cost came to 165 Euro, which included diagnostic work and fixing the electrical connections. Since the repair, the washer system has been functioning properly with no leaks or pump issues. The mechanic did a full system check while fixing the connection problem and confirmed all hoses were clear and in good condition. No other cleaning system problems have occurred. Worth mentioning that having a proper diagnosis saved money in the end, as replacing the entire pump would have cost significantly more. Sometimes these issues can be solved by addressing the electrical connections rather than changing major components.

Thanks for the advice. Just got back from the mechanic and wanted to share my experience. Turns out the system malfunction was exactly as described, a combo of corroded connections and a failing pump. The xenon headlight cleaning system was affected by the same issue. Repair took about 2 hours and cost 220 Euro total. They cleaned the entire system, replaced the pump assembly and fixed all electrical connections. The mechanic showed me the old pump, pretty worn out and had a small leak near the base. Everything works perfectly now. Both windshield and headlight cleaning systems are back to normal. No dash warnings anymore. Worth every cent to get it properly diagnosed and fixed rather than trying quick fixes. Thanks again for helping me understand what to expect. Really helped when talking to the mechanic about the issues.

Faced a similar malfunction on my Audi A3 2016 with 160000km. The washer system stopped working completely, initially thought it was just a clog in the hose system. After inspection, the issue turned out to be more complex. The pump relay had corroded connections, and there was a significant leak where the pump connects to the main hose assembly. The LED indicator on the dash kept showing washer fluid was full, despite the system not working, which pointed to an electrical rather than mechanical issue. The fix required: Replacement of the washer pump, New electrical connectors, Complete hose assembly replacement due to wear This was a serious repair since multiple components needed replacement, and the entire system had to be cleaned to prevent future clogs. The factory-installed components typically last about 100000km before showing wear. Would recommend having the entire washer system inspected, focusing on: Pump functionality, Electrical connections, Hose integrity, Relay operation These symptoms often indicate system-wide wear rather than a single component failure.
