Thanks for sharing your experience with the auxiliary heater repair. My issue got fixed about 2 months ago and the blower motor is working perfectly now. The repair shop found that the coolant leak near the heater core was causing the heating system to malfunction. Im glad I had it checked early before more damage occurred. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for your repair? Also curious if youve had any other heating related problems since getting it fixed?

The glow plug replacement set me back 440 Euro including labor, which was actually less than I initially feared given the complex disassembly work required. My auxiliary heater has been working flawlessly since the repair, no more error codes or temperature sensor issues. The climate control system now maintains perfect heat levels, especially during those cold morning starts. The technicians confirmed the diagnosis with proper testing of the auxiliary heater components before proceeding with the repair. Its worth mentioning that preventive maintenance of the heating system, particularly checking the coolant levels and heater core condition regularly, can help avoid bigger problems down the line. The investment definitely paid off since auxiliary heater failures can lead to more extensive damage if left unchecked. Good to hear you also got your issue resolved, dealing with heating problems early is always the smart move.

I finally have proper heating again! After reading the responses here, I took my car to a trusted repair shop about 2 months ago. The mechanic found a nasty coolant leak near the heater core that was causing all my auxiliary heater problems. Total bill came to 380 Euro for parts and labor, definitely worth every cent. The blower motor now works perfectly and the car heater puts out plenty of warm air, even on the coldest mornings. No more error codes or temperature sensor warnings either. Really glad I got it checked out before winter hit and prevented any additional damage to the system. The repair took about 4 hours total, most of that time was spent accessing the heater core and fixing the coolant leak. Have put about 5000km on the car since then with zero heating issues. For anyone else facing similar problems, definitely worth getting it properly diagnosed rather than trying quick fixes.

Had the same issue on my 2016 Audi A6 3.0 TDI. The parking heater malfunction turned out to be a failed glow plug in the auxiliary heater unit. The climate control system shows an error because the auxiliary heating element cannot reach proper operating temperature. The fix required removing the auxiliary heater assembly to replace both the glow plug and temperature sensor. It was a serious repair since accessing the unit meant partially dismantling the front end to reach the components behind the engine. Common problems with these auxiliary heaters include: Faulty glow plugs, Clogged fuel lines to the heater, Temperature sensor failures, Control module issues Worth checking the coolant level first, as a low coolant condition can trigger similar symptoms. If the heater core and main heating system work normally when the engine is warm, this points strongly to an auxiliary heater problem rather than issues with the main climate control system. The repair took about 6 hours at the shop due to the complex disassembly required. Would recommend having a proper diagnostic scan done to confirm the exact fault codes before proceeding with repairs.
