Audi Q2 Diesel 2010: Black smoke, high consumption and unsteady engine performance - advice needed

Hello, repair professionals! My 2010 Audi Q2 Diesel has been doing some strange things recently. When accelerating, black smoke comes out of the exhaust, the engine light is on, the engine just stops, has hardly any power and runs unevenly. The car also twitches when accelerating, consumes a lot of fuel, smells strongly of exhaust fumes and simply stalls when idling. I suspect that the fault lies with the fuel pressure regulator, but perhaps someone has had similar experiences and can give me a few tips on how to rectify the fault. I would be particularly interested to know how your garage has solved the problem and what your experiences have been. I would be grateful for any advice!

Hi everyone I have an Audi a4 s line 2.0 tdi diesel 2010 I have just changed both sensors in the fuel rail and took the car for a short drive and have now got the glow plug light flashing on my dash whenever I’m driving I have a loss of power and p008700 on my scanner said fuel rail/system pressure - too low. Any help would be appreciated

The P008700 code indicates low fuel rail pressure, which can cause the glow plug light to flash and result in a loss of power. Since you've already replaced the sensors, the issue might be with the fuel pump, fuel filter, or a possible leak in the fuel system. Start by checking the fuel filter for any blockages or clogs, as a dirty filter can restrict fuel flow. If the filter is clean, inspect the fuel lines for any leaks or damage. If these checks don't resolve the issue, it might be necessary to have the fuel pump tested by a professional. Please let us know how it goes or if you have further questions!

The P0087 code typically relates to low fuel rail pressure, but if your diagnostic tool is indicating a throttle sensor issue, it might be a misinterpretation. However, if the throttle sensor is indeed faulty, it could affect engine performance. Start by checking the wiring and connections to the throttle sensor for any signs of damage or corrosion. If everything looks fine, the sensor itself might need testing or replacement. If you're unsure, it's best to consult a professional mechanic for an accurate diagnosis. Let us know if you need further help or how it goes!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have used the Carly app to read out an error that indicates a problem with a solenoid valve for Servotronic. I have also recently started having problems with the steering: the steering wheel vibrates while driving and always leans to the right. The vehicle itself also pulls to the right. My question is where is the servotronic solenoid valve located, what is its function and how do I know if it is that and nothing else. Car: Audi A6 4F year 2007 2.0 tdi 140ps Thank you in advance for your feedback.

The Servotronic solenoid valve is part of the power steering system and adjusts the level of steering assistance based on the vehicle's speed. It's usually located on or near the steering rack. The symptoms you're experiencing, such as the steering wheel vibrating and pulling to the right, could indeed be related to a faulty Servotronic solenoid valve. However, these symptoms can also be caused by other issues like wheel alignment problems or tire imbalances. I recommend starting with a check of the tire pressure and wheel alignment to rule out these simpler issues. If the problem persists, have a professional inspect the Servotronic system. Please update us on your findings or if you have more questions!
