Audi Q2 Signal Lamp Triggers Multiple System Errors

My 2023 Audi Q2 is showing multiple electrical faults in the dashboard, primarily related to the indicator light system. The speedometer displays an error message, and the system has stored fault codes. The turn signal lamp seems to be acting up, and I suspect its causing these issues. Has anyone dealt with similar automotive lighting problems on their Q2? Specifically interested in hearing about repair experiences and what the actual root cause was. The signal lamp works intermittently, but the error messages are constant. Looking for insights before heading to a workshop.

As someone with some hands-on experience working on Audis, I encountered almost identical issues with my 2021 Audi Q3. The symptoms were remarkably similar, dashboard warnings and turn signal lamp malfunctions that created constant error messages. After troubleshooting, it turned out the root cause was a faulty cable connection to the signal lamp assembly. The connector had developed corrosion and wasn't making proper contact. The automotive lighting system in these models is quite sensitive to connection issues. The repair involved replacing the wiring harness connector and cleaning the contact points. The total repair cost was 95 Euro, which included diagnostic time and parts. The bulb replacement wasn't necessary, it was purely a connection issue. What helped speed up the diagnosis was having the exact fault codes. Would you be able to share: The specific error messages showing on your dashboard, Whether both left and right turn signals are affected, If the issue started suddenly or developed gradually, The fault codes if you have them This information would help determine if your Q2 is experiencing the same connector issue mine had. These modern automotive lighting systems are complex, but often the fix is straightforward once properly diagnosed.

Last serviced at 92630 KM. I ran diagnostics and got fault codes P0650 and P0651. The electrical fault appears to affect both turn indicators equally. The issues started gradually over the past week, first with occasional dashboard warnings, then progressing to constant error messages. The turn indicator light on both sides now works about 50% of the time. The workshop quoted me 350 Euro for a full diagnostic but I wanted to gather more info from others who faced similar problems first. Would be great to hear if the wiring harness fix worked long-term in your case.

Thanks for providing those additional details. On my 2021 Q3, the wiring harness repair has held up perfectly for over 15000km now with no recurrence of the turn signal issues. Those fault codes you mentioned (P0650/P0651) actually match exactly what my system was showing. The fact that both your turn signals are affected equally and the gradual onset strongly suggests the same connector corrosion issue I dealt with. The signal lamp problems typically start intermittently like yours before becoming more frequent. After the repair, all the electrical faults cleared immediately and the turn signal lamp functionality returned to normal. The 350 Euro diagnostic quote seems quite high considering the known pattern of these issues. A repair shop familiar with Audi automotive lighting systems should be able to zero in on the connector problem much quicker. If you want to verify before going to a workshop, check if the error messages temporarily clear when you wiggle the wiring near the signal lamp assemblies. This was a telltale sign in my case that pointed to the connection being the culprit rather than the lamp itself. Let us know what you discover. The broken lens and harness replacement ended up being a straightforward fix despite the concerning symptoms.

Thanks for the detailed follow-up. Your experience with the wiring harness repair gives me confidence its likely the same root cause, especially since we share the same fault codes and symptom progression. The intermittent signal lamp behavior matches perfectly with your description. I checked the wiring as suggested and noticed the error messages do fluctuate when moving the cables, which seems to confirm the electrical fault is connection-related. This lines up with your diagnostic experience. Given that the repair has proven reliable on your vehicle and the costs were reasonable, I will skip the expensive diagnostic quote and find a shop that has experience with these specific automotive lighting issues. Will try to negotiate a better rate since the problem seems well-documented now. I appreciate the insights about checking the connections first rather than assuming a complete lamp replacement is needed. The troubleshooting tips helped narrow down the likely cause and will hopefully save some money on unnecessary parts replacement.
