Lately my 2021 Audi Q2 (gas, 123126 KM) is acting up with transmission issues. The car shifts roughly with grinding sounds, and both engine and transmission warning lights are on. The transmission seems to be in limp mode. I suspect a transmission fault related to the oil pressure sensor. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? A similar transmission fault occurred on my 2018 Audi Q3 2.0 TFSI. The symptoms matched exactly, rough shifting, grinding noises, and warning lights indicating transmission issues. The oil pressure sensor was sending incorrect readings, causing the transmission control unit to activate limp mode as a protective measure. Thanks for asking about the follow-up. After getting the transmission oil pressure sensor replaced at my local Audi specialist, everything has been working perfectly for the past 8 months. The total repair cost came to 365 Euro, which included fixing the low gearbox oil level that was causing those concerning grinding noises. The pressure sensor replacement was definitely worth it, the transmission now shifts smoothly without any warning lights or error codes. No additional transmission problems have occurred since the repair. The mechanic also installed a new pressure switch while they were working on it, which helps monitor the oil flow more accurately. The transmission sensor fault being fixed really made a difference in how the car drives. That grinding noise completely disappeared once they corrected the oil level and installed the new pressure sensor. Regular transmission maintenance is now a priority for me to avoid similar issues in the future. The repair cost was reasonable considering it resolved multiple issues: the faulty pressure sensor, low oil level, and the rough shifting problems all at once.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. Just wanted to close the loop on my Audi Q2 transmission troubles. Finally got it fixed last week at a specialized transmission shop. The mechanics confirmed it was the oil pressure sensor causing havoc. They found metal particles in the transmission fluid, likely from the grinding. The repair included: New transmission oil pressure sensor, Complete transmission fluid flush, Filter replacement, Updated software calibration Total cost came to 890 Euro, definitely not cheap but worth it to prevent further damage. The grinding is completely gone and the transmission shifts perfectly now. No more warning lights or limp mode issues. The shop also showed me the old sensor which was completely corroded. They recommended checking transmission fluid levels more frequently, which I will definitely do from now on. Really glad I caught this early, the mechanic mentioned waiting longer could have led to complete transmission failure. The car runs like new again and I learned an expensive but important lesson about transmission maintenance.
