Thanks for sharing your experience. My issue affects the driver side seat heater and shows error code F-31892. The temperature control unit fails immediately when activated. No visible damage to the seat cushion. My car has 97156 KM and last service was done 2 weeks ago, where they actually checked the seat heating system but found no issues then. Really frustrating to have this happen on a nearly new vehicle. Will try checking the fuses first as you suggested. If that doesnt resolve it, sounds like I may be looking at a similar heating element replacement. Good to know the repair timeframe and approximate costs for budgeting.

Thanks for those additional details. This F-31892 code is a classic indicator of a heating element failure in the Q4, just like what I experienced. Since your last service was so recent and they checked the seat heater system, this suggests a sudden component failure rather than gradual deterioration. In my case, the thermal sensor readings were inconsistent before complete failure. The workshop explained that the heating elements can sometimes work intermittently before failing entirely. Given the similar symptoms and error code, you are likely facing the same issue I had with the seat heater assembly. Based on your mileage, this is definitely a premature failure. Since your vehicle is a 2023 model, this repair should be covered under warranty, unlike my case where I had to pay out of pocket. Make sure to document that the issue started appearing right after the recent service inspection. When you take it in, request they check the wiring connections to the heating element as well. In some cases, they might just need to repair a connection rather than replace the entire unit, which could save time if youre lucky.

Thanks everyone for the helpful insights. Just wanted to close the loop on this, took it to the dealer today and they confirmed its a faulty heating element in the seat warmer system. They found some damaged wiring connected to the heating mat that wasnt caught during the recent service. The good news is the automotive repair will be fully covered under warranty. They ordered the replacement parts and scheduled me for next week. Total repair time estimated at 3 hours to replace the seat warmer components and recalibrate the system. For anyone else running into similar seat heating problems with error code F-31892, definitely get it checked while under warranty. The service advisor mentioned theyve seen a few cases of premature heating element failure in the seat cushion assembly recently. Really appreciate all the tips and information shared here, helped me understand the issue better before going in for service.

I had a similar issue with my 2021 Audi Q8 e-tron. Being someone with moderate experience in automotive repair, I first checked the fuses, but that wasnt the problem. The seat heating stopped working completely on the drivers side. The thermal sensor was reporting errors through the dashboard, just like in your case. After some basic troubleshooting, I had it checked at a workshop where they diagnosed a defective seat heating mat requiring complete replacement. The repair included: Removal of seat cushion, Replacement of heating elements, Installation of new thermal sensor, System recalibration Total cost was 390 Euro including parts and labor. The heating repair took about 3 hours to complete. Could you share: Which seat is affected (driver/passenger)? Are you getting any specific error codes? Does the problem occur immediately or after some time of use? Have you noticed any damage to the seat surface? This information would help determine if youre dealing with the same heating mat failure I experienced.
