Thanks for sharing your experience. I had nearly identical dashboard warnings on my S7 last winter. The sensor malfunction symptoms matched exactly what you described, persistent ABS light and traction issues. The transmission also started behaving erratically. The repair indeed required replacing the entire ABS control unit. Really curious how much you ended up paying for the fix? Also, has everything been working properly since the repair, or have you noticed any other related issues popping up?

Since getting the speed signal fault fixed at the shop, my S5 has been running flawlessly. The ECM now receives proper input from all sensors, and both the speedometer and traction systems work as intended. The total repair came to 1000 Euro for the affected control unit replacement and programming. While it wasnt cheap, having a properly functioning ABS system is essential for safety. No other issues have appeared in the months since the repair. The malfunction warning lights have stayed off, and the car handles reliably in all conditions. The investment was worth it for the peace of mind and restored safety features.

The mechanic confirmed it was exactly what I suspected, a faulty ABS control unit causing multiple system malfunctions. The repair cost 1200 Euro which included parts and programming. While expensive, it was necessary for safety. The speedometer now works perfectly and all dashboard warning lights have cleared. The transmission shifts smoothly again and the traction control works like new. Really glad I got it fixed properly instead of trying cheaper alternatives. No issues since the repair was completed 3 months ago. The mechanic showed me the corroded connectors in the old unit, which explained all the erratic behavior. Good to have the car back to its reliable self.

Had similar issues with my Audi S5 2012. The diagnostic showed the ABS control unit was malfunctioning, affecting both the speedometer readings and stability systems. The root cause was a corroded connector inside the ABS control module, which caused intermittent signal failures from the wheel speed sensors. The repair required complete replacement of the ABS control unit, as internal damage was beyond repair. This was a serious issue since the ABS system is crucial for vehicle safety and stability control. The symptoms matched exactly, constant ABS warning light and unreliable traction control. The repair process involved: Full system diagnostic scan, ABS control unit replacement, Control unit coding and adaptation, Wheel speed sensor signal verification, System calibration Without proper ABS function, the car remains unsafe to drive, especially in emergency braking situations. The odometer and other speed-dependent systems also rely on accurate input from these sensors. Would recommend getting this checked by an authorized service center with proper diagnostic equipment, as generic scanners often cant properly communicate with Audi ABS modules.
