A similar issue occurred with my 2020 Audi S7. The cruise control malfunction was traced to a faulty connection between the steering wheel control module and the main throttle body system. The throttle body sensors were non-functional due to a loose wiring harness that developed over time. The repair required: Complete diagnostic scan, Removal of steering wheel controls, Replacement of the wiring harness, Recalibration of throttle body sensors, System reset to clear error codes This was classified as a serious issue since it affected multiple safety systems including emergency brake assist and adaptive cruise features. The work took about 4 hours at the service center. The root cause was connector degradation from normal use, not a mechanical failure. After the repair, all cruise control functions were restored and no error codes returned. Would recommend having it checked soon, as driving with malfunctioning safety systems can be risky. I suggest requesting a full diagnostic scan focused on the throttle position sensor and steering wheel control module specifically.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the S7. My SQ8 seems to have the exact same symptoms you described. The faulty system warning appeared right after I noticed the cruise control acting up. Did your repair hold up well since then? I am particularly concerned about the throttle body sensors since they seem to be the core of the problem. Also, if you dont mind sharing, what was the total cost for fixing everything including the diagnostic work? I just scheduled an appointment for next week to have it looked at. Really hoping its just a loose connection in the fuse box or wiring rather than a complete sensor replacement.

Had the repair done last week and can report back with good news. The car electronics specialist found a damaged cable connection near the actuator assembly, much simpler fix than initially feared. No need for a complete throttle body sensor replacement. The total cost came to 95 Euro, which covered the diagnostic scan and repair of the connection. The cruise control system is now working perfectly again with no error messages. This confirms it was just a loose connection rather than a more serious component failure. The technician mentioned these non-functional connections are fairly common and usually dont require replacing the entire throttle body system. They performed a full system test after the repair to ensure all cruise control functions were properly restored. Since the fix last week, zero issues with the cruise control or any other related systems. Sounds like your SQ8 might have a similar straightforward fix, fingers crossed its just a connection issue rather than something more complex.

I went in for the repair yesterday. The mechanic found similar issues with the car electronics, specifically the wiring near the actuator that controls the cruise system. The faulty system turned out to be just a damaged connection in the fuse box area, not the major sensor replacement I was worried about. Total repair cost was 180 Euro including: Full diagnostic scan, Wiring repair, System recalibration, Final testing The throttle body and its sensors were all functioning correctly, so no replacement was needed there. The mechanic showed me the damaged wiring and explained how these connection issues are fairly common. After the repair, they ran a complete system check to verify everything was working properly. Took the car on a long drive today and the cruise control is working flawlessly, no more error messages or warning lights. Really relieved it was just a wiring issue rather than something more serious with the actuator or sensors.
