Auris cold start injector issue

I'm having difficulty with cold starts on my 2006 Toyota Auris, gasoline engine, around 81357 km. The engine runs very poorly when cold, and it needs excessive cranking to start. I suspect a faulty cold start injector. Anyone else had this?

I've heard of similar issues on older Auris models. Does it clear up after a few minutes, or does the rough idle persist? Have you checked the fuel rail pressure? Might be worth a look before replacing injectors.

Thanks, it does improve after a few minutes as the engine warms up. How do I check the fuel rail pressure, or is there a resource you can point me to? I'm moderately familiar with diagnostics, but haven't done fuel pressure testing before.

Okay, if it improves when warm, it sounds like a cold start injector issue. I'm no expert on testing fuel rail pressure. Given the age of the car, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They have the tools and knowledge to diagnose it accurately. Better safe than sorry with the fuel system.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions and for the advice. I brought it to a local mechanic, and it was indeed the cold start injector. The total repair cost, including parts and labor, was about 515€. The car now starts perfectly, even in cold weather.
