Thanks for the quick reply! When you say dodgy connection, do you mean loose, or corroded, or something else? And was it easy to get to the switch in your Astra, or did you have to dismantle half the dash?

In my case, it was a combination of loose and slightly corroded. I just cleaned everything up with some electrical contact cleaner and tightened the connection. It was a pain to get to, but not too bad. Honestly, though, given that you have an error stored, it might be worth getting a professional to take a look. Could save you a lot of hassle.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I think I'll book it in at the workshop. The repair ended up costing 95€. At least now everything is working as it should.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Vauxhall Astra. Turned out to be a dodgy connection in the headlight switch. Did you check the cable or plug connection of the component?
