Auris Washer Fluid Warning Issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2013 Toyota Auris hybrid. The washer fluid low warning keeps popping up, even though the reservoir is full! Now the windshield washer system no longer works. I've got an error stored, but haven't had time to properly check it. The car has 175603 km on it. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The initial problem was a persistent washer fluid low warning in a 2013 Toyota Auris hybrid, despite the reservoir being full, and the windshield washer system not functioning. Possible causes discussed included a blocked nozzle, faulty pump, or sensor issue. Suggested solutions involved checking the fuse for the washer pump and inspecting for blockages. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by refilling the washer fluid, which cleared the error and restored functionality.

That's strange. I had a similar problem with my Auris. Is the fluid actually coming out when you try to use the washers? If not, it could be a blocked nozzle or a faulty pump. The 'washer fluid low warning' could be a sensor issue, even if the level is fine. Have you checked the fuse for the washer pump? The fuse protects the electrical circuit of the pump.

Thanks for the reply! No, the fluid isn't coming out at all. Where exactly is the fuse located, and how do I check if the nozzle is blocked? I'm not super technical when it comes to cars, so ELI5 if you can!

Okay, if no fluid is coming out, I'd lean towards a blocked pump or a dead pump motor. The fuse box location is usually in the engine bay or under the dashboard. Consult your car's manual, it will show the exact position and which fuse is for the washer pump. If the fuse is okay, honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get it checked out. Could be a faulty pump which requires replacement.

Thanks! I appreciate the advice. I had some time to check it myself and I found out that the wiper water level was actually too low (my bad!). I topped it up myself and everything works again! The error code disappeared after a while. Cost me 25€ to buy wiper fluid. Cheers!
