Avalon engine stalls fuel composition error

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2002 Toyota Avalon with a gasoline engine. The check engine light keeps popping on, and sometimes, especially when I'm stopped, the engine stalls. I ran a scan and it's showing an error related to the fuel composition being off. I'm not sure where to start. I've tried different fuel additives, thinking maybe it was bad gas, but no luck. Could it be something with the fuel filter or the fuel quality itself? Any thoughts?

Dude, that sounds frustrating! I've got an Avalon too, and I had a similar issue a while back. The engine light, the stalling... it was driving me nuts. Did you check the cable and plug connections to the fuel sensor? That was my problem.

Yeah, those are the ones. It's a pain to get to, honestly. But before you tear everything apart, maybe just wiggle the connections a bit and see if anything changes. If that doesn't work and you're not comfortable messing with it, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. I ended up doing that, and they said it was a defective connection causing a bad reading.

Took it to my local mechanic, turns out it was exactly as you said – a defective cable connection. They charged me 95€ to fix it. Runs perfectly now! Really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!
