Avalon seat heater malfunction

I've got a 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid with just over 36k kilometers on the clock. The seat heater isn't getting warm. I pulled the codes and found an error stored related to the heating element. Anyone else experience similar issues with their seat heating?

I had a similar problem with my Avalon. The seat heating just stopped working. Did you check the resistance of the heating mat in the seat cushion? Could be a broken wire.

I haven't checked the resistance yet, but that's next on my list. Was the error code you saw also pointing to a defective heating element?

Yeah, the code indicated a problem with the temperature control circuit. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they'll probably tell you it's a faulty heating mat.
