Avalon SRS Warning Light

My 2006 Toyota Avalon with a gasoline engine has the airbag warning lamp lit on the speedometer. It started intermittently weeks ago, but now it's constant. I checked under the seats for loose airbag cables, but everything seems connected. I'm concerned about airbag deployment in an accident. Anyone experienced this SRS light issue before?

That sounds annoying! I had a similar problem with my old Volvo. The SRS light (Supplemental Restraint System, basically the whole airbag setup) kept coming on. I fiddled with the airbag sensor connections, but it didn't fix anything. Did you try checking the fuses?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the fuses yet, good idea! Do you remember which fuses were related to the airbag system in your Volvo? Was it clearly labeled, or did you have to dig through the manual?

I can't remember the exact fuse number, and it's probably different for a Toyota anyway. I think it was labeled something like 'Airbag' or 'SRS'. After checking the fuses and still having the issue, I just took it to a workshop. It turned out to be a faulty connection, which can be really tricky to diagnose without the right tools. Best to be safe when it comes to your restraint system.

I'll check the fuses, but if that doesn't solve it, I'll take it to a trusted mechanic. I got a quote for 95€, because the cable or plug connection of the component is defective. Thanks for the advice and sharing your experience!
