Avancier engine stalling check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Honda Avancier owner experienced engine stalling and a persistent check engine light, suspecting a fuel tank ventilation system leak related to the EVAP system or a faulty pressure sensor. Another individual suggested checking the activated charcoal filter, a common failure point in the EVAP system that can cause such symptoms. Upon professional inspection, the defective filter was confirmed as the issue, and its replacement resolved the stalling and check engine light problems.

Thanks for the quick response! I suspected that the air flow was somehow compromised. How did you pinpoint the activated charcoal filter as the culprit? Did you use any specific leak detection methods or diagnostic tools? Was it difficult to replace?

I didn't use any fancy tools; the symptoms were pretty much identical to yours. Given the mileage, a clogged or damaged filter was the most likely cause. While you could try replacing it yourself, I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop. They can confirm the diagnosis and ensure proper replacement and avoid further problems with the EVAP system.

Thanks so much for your advice! You were spot on. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a defective activated charcoal filter. The repair cost me 275€, but now it runs perfectly! No more stalling or check engine light. Really appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Avancier. Have you checked the activated charcoal filter? A defective filter can cause those exact symptoms, triggering the check engine light and leading to stalling issues due to improper air flow. It's a common point of failure in the EVAP system and worth investigating.
