Avantime Brake Vibration

Help! My 2003 Renault Avantime diesel is acting up! The brakes feel super weird. I get this strange feedback through the pedal – almost like a vibration. I checked the brake fluid, and it seems okay. Could it be squeaky brakes or something more serious with the disc brakes?

Avantime, huh? I had similar issues with mine, though it wasn't the exact same year. Is the vibration constant, or only under heavier braking? Could be related to undervoltage.

Undervoltage? Seriously? I didn't even consider that! How would low voltage affect the hydraulic brakes? Is that something a simple check can reveal, or should I be looking at brake rotors?

Yeah, undervoltage can cause all sorts of gremlins in these cars. In my case, it messed with the ABS system, which caused the weird brake feel. Probably best to get it checked out at a workshop before something goes completely wrong.

Thanks for the tip! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – undervoltage causing issues with the ABS. Cost me 240€ to sort it, but at least my brakes are back to normal! Cheers!
