Thanks for the reply! Spark plugs aren't applicable since it's a diesel. Did your check engine light come on too? Was it definitely the injectors that fixed it for you? What sort of fuel economy were you getting before and after? I have also been considering the air-fuel ratio sensor. Any insights you can share?

Yes, the check engine light was on constantly, driving me nuts! While it felt like injectors, I didn't have the tools to properly diagnose it myself. I got so frustrated I took it straight to a trusted mechanic. They ran diagnostics and confirmed it was indeed a faulty injector. In my case, the repair cost me around 500€ including labor. Honestly, for the sake of your sanity, get it properly diagnosed, otherwise you could end up throwing good money after bad.

Thanks so much for the advice. Sounds like a trip to the mechanic it is! At least I have a better idea of what to expect, and a faulty injector was my hunch. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

I feel your pain! I had similar issues on my Avantime, although mine is the petrol version. Reduced power, rough running – it was like driving a tractor! Did you check the simple things first, like spark plugs? A faulty catalytic converter could also cause a rich mixture. The symptoms are similar to what I experienced; it's like the engine thinks it needs way more fuel than it actually does.
