Avantime Tire Valve ABS Power Steering Issues

My 2002 Renault Avantime (diesel engine) is throwing weird errors. The tire pressure low warning keeps popping up, the ABS lamp is also lighting up, the steering wheel vibrates, and the power steering feels off. I've inflated the tires, checked for leaks, but the pressure loss persists. Any ideas? It's done 184280 km.

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Avantime. Did you check the tire monitoring system itself? Sometimes a faulty valve in the tire can cause issues, triggering the ABS and messing with the power steering.

A faulty valve, eh? Interesting. I hadn't considered that. Is that something easily diagnosed, or am I looking at a trip to the mechanic? The shaking and steering issues are really worrying me.

The valve can be tricky to spot without proper equipment. In my case, it was a tiny air leak. The combination of the tire pressure warning and the other symptoms points towards a valve issue messing with the car's sensors. Honestly, I'd get it checked at a workshop. They'll be able to pinpoint it quickly.

Thanks for the insight! Dropped it off at the workshop this morning, and you were spot on – defective valve in one of the tires! Apparently, it was messing with the ABS and power steering sensors, just like you said. Repair cost me 280€, but at least it's sorted. Appreciate the help!
